Back in Oregon…Now Unpacking Begins; Glad to be Home!

Nice visit in Salem, Oregon, with Daughter and kittens. Then, we headed on over to homeplace. Everything in good repair, except grass and weeds overgrown, lots of rain.

Our 18 year old cat paid us a visit to be fed. Little does he know, there will soon be three kittens to entertain him. Simba is a loner, the neighbors fed him well. Sheriff did a neighborhood watch, mail was held by post office.

The little squashes are now grown, too wet out there to get a good picture tonight.

Lady, Lucky, and Lincoln glad to see us!

A beautiful moon over freshly mown hayfield, across from us. We lease land to wonderful farmers.

What are Lincoln (front) and Lucky up to?

Can you believe they are both fifteen or so years old? Lucky is hearing challenged, and Lincoln is visually challenged.

They were all glad to see us!

The above is so true.

I am always looking for pictures. Piper is seven years old. We are at Toyota getting the Captain’s truck inspected after a long trip.

The owner allowed me to take the picture. Border Collies are amazing animals. Very smart. Piper also smiled at me😁.

This is my Wisteria at the peak of summer.

Everything is dying down. I had some roses left when we got home, plus red tomatoes still on the vine. Rhubarb is still ready and we have swiss chard. We live on five acres in God’s Country in Oregon.

I got the neighbors’ gift package ready to take over when we get home. Homemade jams and jellies from South Carolina, fudge and peanut logs from Cracker Barrel. They are such kind neighbors. The 11, soon to be 12 year old twins, were in charge of feeding the cat.

We had a wonderful trip. It was so nice to see all of you. God truly had us in the palms of his hands on our tour/trip. It was like a beautiful dream to see everyone.

You all please take care, say your prayers, eat right, and be safe😇.

The Captain and Navigator wish you a long, healthy, and prosperous life. ‘Till We Meet Again.

God got us Home, and He’ll take it from here.

Getting Close to Home Now…

Two good meals at Shari’s

Look real close, this little guy thought that I could not see him. He had come to work with his Mama, to our hotel☺️

This side was burned.

This side was not. Fire is subject to the wind, and to its own impetus.

Leaving Sister’s, Oregon, on the way to Salem, Oregon.

I just thought that was a real tall tree…

There’s Kimba…

Curiosity…

The town has a western theme, Sisters, Oregon

We will catch you one more day…

Thanks for joining us on this continuing journey…

Having Fun in Bend, Oregon

We arrived at the La Quinta in Bend, will stay two nights for rejuvenation! We’ll stop by Salem, Oregon to see our Daughter on way to Carlton, Oregon our home.

Lovely breakfast as usual at the hotel. Captain loves his old-fashioned oatmeal that I carry with me, and I get yogurt at breakfast, to go with his oatmeal.

A little bird perched nearby to say hi to the Captain and I. It was a little cutie baby sparrow, one of God’s creatures.

This picture is for my Sister who loves all animals, plus my Daughter and Granddaughter.

Sasquatch has a prominent place in the local pub and grill. The mocha latte was good, Captain also had banana bread, yum!

Beautiful scenery coming into Bend.

We arrived just in time, Captain was ready to call it a day, and my g p s duties had worn me down.

Did I also mention that my sister in South Carolina called us so that we could both stay awake, two evenings in a row?

A Dollar General in every town. This one was in Burns, Oregon.

This is Tom, twin brother is Jerry. I am anticipating that they will both make their home with us, after their vaccinations.

What a curious special little guy he is!

Mount Bachelor and the Three Sisters mountsinsare in the foreground. I will get better pictures this afternoon and tomorrow

Beautiful, clear day here, and 38° this morning, Fifty seven degrees now.

Catch you later! We are walking around their Mall in town, called the Old (Red) Mill District.

We just went to REI, and got the Navigator a new lightweight, North Face, boysenberry-colored, waterproof jacket.

On we Go…

Spent the night in a beautiful Holiday Inn..And on the road toward Boise, Idaho now.

All beautiful flatland. Sprinkling rain.

55 degrees, 52 this am, Going to be hitting drizzly, cool, weather. Goodbye warm eighty to ninety degree weather. I can’t complain, because we really needed the rain in Oregon.

Starting to miss all the kittens. This is Fern, he has three brothers and one sister. We are preparing for some adoption of them.

This is the Snake River Canyon where Evil Knievel jumped over with his motorcycle

Goodbye, mountains and we will be on flatland until we get to the other side of Bend, Oregon.

Missed breakfast at all the places available, so I found me some tasty, low calorie, low salt pork chops at the deli. Yummy with a diet pepsi😄

Sopping at a Cracker Barrel, our last chance, unless we take another trip east. It is in Boise, Idaho.

I will see you in a little while again.

On the road again after a wonderful meal at the last Cracker Barrel we will see, until we head East again. Now, headed west on Highway 20 now, after leaving Boise on Highway 84. We will soon see some mountains when we get around Burns and Bend. Remember we have Mt. Hood, Mt. Bachelor, the Sister’s, et cetera,

Arrived in Burns, Oregon, deciding whether to go two hours to Bend for the night.

High Desert Country, Maybe a few rattlers.

Of course, Burns has a Dollar General😁

More later!

MADE IT TO LITTLE AMERICA, WYOMIMG: LITTLE AMERICA HOTEL

It is so beautiful here in the hotel, inside is a little retro. The Holding family of Utah own all of the Little America’s, Sun Valley resort, Sinclair Oil, etc.

Dinner last eve was the Little America Burger and Mexican Spaghetti and garlic bread, with soup or salad.

The history of the Little America is fascinating as they offer a shuttle that picks up employees from miles around, and is free, plus they provide housing for those who work there. This is minus forty degree winter weather location. In two thousand nineteen, we ran into a blizzard from idaho to Wyoming.

Hey folks, it was thirty eight degrees when we got up this morning, up to sixty six at twelve 07 here in Wyoming.

Miles in miles and miles of road. The same traine that I took pictures of several blogs back is making it here as we go to Pocatello, Idaho, through Soda Springs again to our favorite Arctic Circle.

Some cute earrings for some special people in Oregon.

Please turn the pitcher sideways to see it. Prickly Pear Syrup, made for Little America Corp.

How about you all look up information on Little America, and all its holdings by Holdings family. Stephen Holding is heir, plus two sisters and Mom. This family brought the Olympic games to Salt Lake City many years ago, and built a huge hotel that was 5 🌟 star

.

Great pictures taken.

Chunky apple sauce and wonderful corn bread, looks great daughter! There was also steak and turkey chili made by a great guy.

Get well granddaughter! This food will heal you!

IT IS BREAK TIME! MORE LATER:

Lincoln had a bath, looks relaxed 😴

Still Driving Along With Captain…

The scenery continues to inspire me. We had a bite of sustenance at the Big D.

Captain eats sparingly when he’s driving. One half of a whole grain ham and cheese was his limit. Papa John’s provided some pizza to eat later.

We still have our chicken and green beans on ice. Minus one leg and thigh😄

They’re harvesting hay, and that partial body of water with white looks like a dried salt lake.

Do you see the little dirt devil in the background?

MORE LATER…

We passed the Continental Divide, which runs across country. Elevation was seven thousand feet.

That lake with the salt deposits has a substance called T r o n a. Wyoming has the largest deposits of it in the world. Transported all over the world, and is used for baking soda and many other things.

Your assignment is to look it up.

We have 904 point six miles left after Little America, Wyoming.

Hey Sister, This was for you!

Look at J….’s car!

An asolutely beautiful two thousand eight candy apple red Mustang With t l c administered.

Hey second cousin, that is on sharp car!

I enjoyed watching you spin it around the parking lot at Cracker Barrel in Powdersville, S.C.!

HEY YOU ALL FOLKS READING MY BLOG!

We are still headed west on interstate eighty, trucking on down the road!

Such a light sky, with one cloud, sun going down in west.

Hey Daughter, I”ve had lots of days off.

Wyoming is So Beautiful!

W are on our way to Little America Hotel in Little America, Wyoming. A beautiful eighty three degrees, and we’re gaining altitude.

The beauty is indescribable. Climbed eighty six hundred feet, Then, dropping down into Laramie, population close to thirty three thousand, University of Wyoming is here.

Hotel rooms climbed up 2-3 hundred dollars for the games at the University, everyone should bring a tent😁

We are passing right through here, and Rawlings onto Little America for a room.

This am, we started out with breakfast at La Quinta, plus Captain’s oatmeal earlier, now lunch time.

Above is a beautiful scene from Nebraska that I didn’t post.

I will catch all of you later! Stopping at the Big D to fill up with gas.

Missouri has been Wonderful, Here’s Some Highlights:

We went through many wonderful small town America’s yesterday, while taking a scenic route, through highways 54, 36, etc.

Towns like Montgomery, Florida, Perry, plus St.Joseph last night, were full of friendly folks!

Found a few gifts at the Dollar General to take back to Oregon.

Corn is grown for the bioprocessing plants to make into ethanol, Perry has one, plus a Dollar General out in the middle of nowhere, between two cornfields. Perry has a population of six hundred, and is full of pride, these folks are so friendly. Florida is next door, and has building lots for sale!

Monroe had the first Ben Franklin I’ve seen in years! St. Jude Catholic Church was beautiful

Coming in to St. Joseph, there was some wonderful sunsets in clouds.

We had a long drive yesterday, and ended at Qality Suites in St. Joseph. They offered a veteran and member discount. The place was very clean, and offered a nice breakfast.

We’re on our way again! Bought some snacks for the road at Fast Lane Gas.

We also have another apple left, some healthy crackers, and will, hopefully, find a place tonight with salads and veggies.

We loaded our Subway sandwich with veggies last evening. It was a Philly Cheese Outlaw with extra veggies, Chipotle Baja Sauce.

More later, over and out, before I lose my blog😁

Here We Are, Less than One Hour Away from Our Final Destination!

The afternoon has truly flown by. We ate our tasty treats at a Philip’s truck stop.

We purchased fried chicken and homemade green beans for our dinner.

We kept Captain awake with snacks and rest stops, and of course my blogging chatter.

I will let you write the story for the bathroom object, the maintenance man was on sabbatical😆

The cow key chain has a diversionary noise when we’re bored. It has been with me a long time.

There’s that Nebraska corn in the foreground.

Our country depends on it. It has many uses.

I keep my eye on captain at all times, even when walking around the rest stop, I look for the pick up. There is that sweet man to the far right.

What a beautiful eighty degree day here in Nebraska! I hear that some rainy, chilly weather awaits us in Oregon.

Someone told me we must be on an adventure, what do you think?

More next time, our destination is real close.

North Platte, Nebraska. Staying in a wonderful hotel only four years old that we stayed in before. That fried chicken and green beans is going to taste real good!

Hey, we decided to save the chicken and green beans for tomorrow.

Taco salads instead next door at the friendly restaurant.

I wonder who that sweet little doggy is above.

Don’t you just love Border Collies? Someone said she was a real lady.

She looks bored to me, and ready for someone to throw that ball on the floor.

I also heard that her owner has seven chickens, three dogs, and eight cats. What a lovely animal family! Another rumor was that the owner’s Dad had made an elegant chicken house. Those kittens are going to need some type of shelter, when they’re released to the farm.

These folks look like they’re serious. Speeding can be dangerous.

I like this sign also. We should always eat what we take, and not take more than we can eat. There are hungry folks out there. Take time today to help someone. Give a helping hand, you won’t be sorry!

Hopefully, We will make it to Rawlins or Rock Springs Tomorrow!

Weather changes, cowboys, and horses.

The Captain has some relatives in this neck of the woods that everyone has lost track of, because of the demise of the older relatives.

We are looking to offspring to follow up with cousins and relatives, someday in the future.

They had some type of farm, plus they raised horses.

Well folks, tomorrow is another day, so it’s time to call the end of this one.

So take it easy, don’t forget to exercise, say your prayers!
